BIOGRAPHY

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Martin exhibited an interest in art at an early age, recalling his mother advising him to simplify Mickey Mouse's hands by only drawing three fingers. Having little in terms of discretionary resources, his love for drawing and painting yielded to the more practical interests of chemistry and law, leading to a 30+ year career as an intellectual property and transactional attorney in the pharmaceutical industry.  After retiring in 2018. Martin's passion for art was reignited after viewing Bob Ross work his magic beating the devil out of his brushes.  While the internet provides a multitude of resources to learn and acquire artistic skills, the online tutorials and courses of study fell short of Martin's goals: confident reproducible results. These goals would be met by training under Kevin Murphy, a world renown artist, founder of the Art Academy schools, and co-founder of Evolve Artist, who by teaching the basic elements of representational art- edges, values and color, provided Martin with a course of study that has forever altered his path as an artist.
